Flower of the Lake Blooming? [Fleur du Lac]
The remains of Henry
Kaiser's Fleur du Lac are now in competent hands after sitting in a field behind a
California bar for several years. Painted blue, with an antique automobile air horn
mounted on its deck from a previous restoration" attempt, the hull will be used as a
pattern to build an exact duplicate. Named after Kaiser's "Flower of the Lake"
estate In Tahoe, the Fleur du Lac had aluminum plates on its upper decking,
probably to promote Kaiser's aluminum industry.
