During the final heat of the Ralphs/Food4Less Bill Muncey Cup on Mission
Bay, San Diego, Greg Hopp was piloting the U-15, Miss Pontiac. On the third lap the boat appeared loose. On the fourth lap it went skyward, flipping and breaking apart upon impact. The boat was badly damaged. Greg was taken to hospital for examination. He sustained cuts and bruises, but otherwise emerged unscathed. [Frame grabs from footage by KNSD-TV San Diego] |
