Washington, Oct. 18 [1960] (AP) -- The Unlimited Hydroplane Racing Commission today rejected a protest over the start of the fifteen-mile final heat in the President's Cup Regatta last Sept. 18. It upheld Referee E.M. Peatross, who declared Miss Detroit, driven by Chuck Thompson, the winner on the basis of elapsed time. Bill Muncey, the driver of Miss Thriftway, had protested that all boats in the race except his had jumped the gun in the final heat.
