Nitrogen U-79 [1958]

"Owned by Samuel DuPont of Wilmington, Del., the Les Staudacher-designed-and-built craft entered the racing scene at the end of the 1958 season. She races out of the Washington, D.C., Corinthian Yacht Club. She is powered by an Allison V-12 engine mounted 2-5/8 inches lower than in other unlimiteds. Her gearbox utilizes an internal gear. She is 29 feet long, 12 feet wide and weighs 6,000 pounds. Her colors are mahogany, blue and yellow."
