Seattle will not be the last stop on the unlimited-hydroplane circuit in 1975.

Officials of the sport have agreed to proceed with plans for a September 14 regatta in Phoenix, followed by a season-ending race September 21 in San Diego.

An Unlimited Racing Commission official last night confirmed that both, races were approved here Friday night during an executive committee meeting of the U.R.C.

The unlimited fraternity hopes to receive a final stamp of approval from San Diego officials later this week.

Earlier, San Diego sponsors announced the race had been canceled because funds fell $20,000 short. Last night, it was reported that Weisfield’s Inc., sponsor of the Weisfield’s hydro, would pick up a portion of the tab.

Bill Muncey, Atlas Van Lines driver, has been spearheading the effort to restore the race to the schedule.

The Phoenix race will be moved from Lake Carl Pleasant to Firebird Lake, a smaller body of water. The Arizona regatta was a question-mark until now because of the low water level in Lake Carl Pleasant this summer.
