(Slo-Mo-Shun V threw a prop on the Wednesday before the Sunday race. This caused a severely wrenched shaft and a hole in her afterplane . The U-37 was ready to go Sunday morning, but engine trouble kept her from making her qualification until the log boom broke away preventing her from making her run prior to the race. The other owners voted against letting her run without a qualification trial.)
